What to eat and how often
The Mediterranean Diet is the doctor-approved eating plan for all people. The diet suggests people eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and limit how much chicken and meat they eat. HTN Three-Pillars Case Study
In this study, conducted from June 2020 – June 2021, Miami Beach Community Health Center (MBCHC) identified methods to address hypertension using fortified protocols, advancing their approach to telemedicine and building relationships with their patients. MBCHC saw maintained blood pressure control for more than 80% of patients, with 79.1% of African American patients whose blood pressure was controlled.

Hypertension in Adults: Screening
All adults 18 years and older should be screened for hypertension with office blood pressure measurement (OBPM), according to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). The USPSTF further recommends that providers also take blood pressure measurements outside of the clinical setting for diagnostic confirmation before starting treatment.
