2020 International Society of Hypertension, Global Hypertension Practice Guidelines

They can be applied in low and high resource settings with the goal of preventing or treating high blood pressure and its complications.

Hypertension in Adults: Screening
All adults 18 years and older should be screened for hypertension with office blood pressure measurement (OBPM), according to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). The USPSTF further recommends that providers also take blood pressure measurements outside of the clinical setting for diagnostic confirmation before starting treatment.
