Physician Response to COVID-19–Driven Telehealth Flexibility for Opioid Use Disorder
Many physicians who participated in a July 2020 study used telehealth for the first time during the early COVID-19 era. Most respondents found telehealth to be more effective than expected and 77% would be likely to use telehealth after the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey results were published in the American Journal of Managed Care.

COVID-19: FDA Authorizes Pharmacists to Prescribe PAXLOVID with Certain Limits
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for PAXLOVID for the treatment of mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in certain adults and pediatric patients at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19, including hospitalization or death. On July 6, the FDA revised the EUA to let pharmacists prescribe and dispense PAXLOVID to eligible patients without seeing a doctor or other clinician.

Study Says Vaccinated and Boosted Nebraskans Far Less Likely to be Hospitalized for COVID-19
Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services State Epidemiologist Dr. Matthew Donahue and his team completed an in-depth analysis of vaccination and booster rates correlated to hospitalizations. The data indicate that individuals who are vaccinated, and especially individuals who have received a COVID-19 booster, are less likely to be hospitalized for COVID-19.
