This video provides instruction on navigating and understanding each field of the HSR and will help hospitals understand the measures on which they are being evaluated, track their outcomes, and further their quality improvement efforts.

Want to know more about the Excess Days in Acute Care (EDAC) measures? This video provides information on the hospital return days measures in the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) Program. The hospital return days measures add up the number of days patients spent back in the hospital (in the emergency department, under observation, or in an inpatient unit) within 30 days after they were first treated and released. Patients can use the information from this video to help determine where to seek care, and hospitals can use the information in this video to better understand the measure.
